The G-11, a 100-foot diameter cargo parachute, provides airdrop capabilities for vehicular and bulk-type platform loads. Primarily developed for platform airdrops, the G-11 assembly remains the only heavy-capacity cargo parachute readily available for military use.
The G-11 can be deployed individually or in clusters of two or more, depending on the total payload weight, and can be dropped from minimum altitudes ranging from 700 to 1,300 feet AGL.
In its basic configuration, a single G-11 is capable of supporting a 5,000-pound payload; when deployed in a cluster of eight, the assembly can support up to 42,000 pounds.
Capabilities and features: • Designed to decelerate and stabilize vehicular and bulk-type platform air-delivery cargo loads • Capable of supporting up to 42,000 lbs when configured in a cluster of eight (8) • Deployable individually or in clusters of two or more, depending on the total airdrop weight
